Success Secrets of Cultivating Catfish on a Tarpaulin Pool.

Catfish are increasingly in demand because it tastes delicious and the price is relatively cheap. Culinary entrepreneurs are now always including catfish in their diet. Therefore, catfish businessmen must be well educated regarding catfish farming.

Caring for and selling catfish is very easy, making it the right choice for cultivation. Catfish can be cultivated in many places, including tarpaulin pools, wall pools, soil, and plastic drums.

To start catfish cultivation, it's good to cultivate catfish in tarpaulin ponds. Besides being easy, the price of tarpaulin pools is relatively cheap. Catfish yields will also be of higher quality using tarpaulin pools because they avoid soil pollution.

Catfish has good health content, it contains minerals, protein, fat, calcium, phosphorus, iron, sodium, vitamins B1 and B2, and niacin. Cheap doesn't mean it's not good, right?

Well, to find out the steps to cultivate catfish in tarpaulin ponds, see the explanation below.

First, make sure the tarpaulin pool is clean. Clean using soap so that the smell of glue and chemicals that were previously stuck is gone. Dry the tarpaulin pool and let it sit for a full day without water, the next day, fill the tarpaulin pool with water up to 20 to 30 cm high. Let the water stand for 7 to 10 days for the formation of moss and phytoplankton.

Then you can add water with a height of approximately 80 to 90 cm. After the water is ready, add a few slices of papaya leaves or cassava leaves. This aims to reduce the smell of pond water when evaporation occurs. After that you must add pool water as high as 5 cm from before.

Furthermore, for catfish farming, make sure the selected catfish seeds have a size of about 5 to 7 cm, try to be uniform. After the tarpaulin pond and seeds have been prepared, the next step is to spread the seeds to the pond.

However, before spreading the seeds to the pond, you have to go through the process of fertilizing catfish seeds, the methods are:

1. Prepare manure, then enter the fertilizer into the sack and divide the fertilizer into two parts,

2. Place the two sacks into the pool, either on the edge or in the middle of the pool. The sack will move freely floating on the surface of the pool,

3. A week later, pull and dip the sack repeatedly like making tea, then lift the two sacks. This is so that the fertilizer is completely absorbed by water.

After that, spread the catfish seeds. The spread of catfish seeds is good in the morning or evening because it is not exposed to direct contact with sunlight. Hot water conditions due to the sun will cause catfish seeds to die quickly.

Well, after succeeding, there are two things that must be considered after catfish farming, namely maintenance. Two important aspects in maintaining catfish are water management and catfish feed. Catfish feed in the form of pellets, golden snails, plankton, worms, and so on. Do not feed catfish when it rains because it can contaminate food.
