Live Conditions for Catfish

Catfish is a type of freshwater fish that has a breathing aid other than the gills commonly called arborescent.

This breathing aid can help catfish live in environments that contain low oxygen levels.

However, although catfish are able to survive in all conditions of the waters, there are several factors that need to be considered in conducting catfish farming, namely:

1. The water temperature suitable for catfish cultivation is 20-30 degrees Celsius with the optimum temperature at 27 degrees Celsius;

2. The minimum dissolved oxygen content in water is 3 ppm;

3. Soil pH 6.5 - 8; and

4. CO2 content below 15 ppm, NH3 0.05 ppm, NO2 0.25 ppm, and NO3 250 ppm.
